Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco

Bone white. Blood red. Along this path, you’ll soon be dead.Following the horrifying revelation of Jack the Ripper’s true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth flees her home in Victorian London to enroll as the only female student in Europe’s most prestigious forensics school. But it’s impossible to find peace in the dark, unsettling Romanian castle that houses the school—and was also once home to the depraved Vlad the Impaler, otherwise known as Prince Dracula.
When a series of troubling deaths brings whispers of Vlad’s bloodthirsty return from the grave, Audrey Rose and her sharp-witted companion, Thomas Cresswell, must unravel the cryptic clues that will lead them to the shadowlike killer—living or dead.

Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco is beautiful, morbid, and mystifying. After all the tragic events in Stalking Jack the Ripper, Audrey Rose and Thomas are off to Romania to school. Of course the Academy of Forensics, Science, and Medicine has plenty of secrets. Audrey Rose suspects that Dracula has returned and he is out for blood.
Audrey Rose is dealing with some serious PTSD after the events in book one. I think Maniscalco did a great job representing Audrey Rose’s PTSD and how she is coping with it. One thing I love about Audrey Rose’s character is the fact that she doesn’t let anyone hold her back. She keeps her amazing and charming personality through it all.
Thomas Creswell comes back with a force in Hunting Prince Dracula. I already loved Thomas in the first book. Audrey Rose and Thomas have amazing chemistry and I absolutely love it. Their chemistry in this book is even better than the first  book. Creswell shines in this book from page one. He flirts and builds so much tension with Audrey Rose. These two characters ooze affection and their snarky dialogue is perfect.
Maniscalco creates such a vivid and beautiful story. This story includes a creepy castle with plenty of secret passages ways and gruesome bodies. The medieval village is great and the history woven through out the story just leaps off the page. I do think this installment in this series is definitely more creepy and morbid. I swear Kerri Maniscalco is a brilliant writer. She creates such beautiful scenes and characters.
Hunting Prince Dracula is amazing. This is definitely not a book I could read at night before bed. It is a bit too creepy and morbid for that. It didn’t not stop me from devouring this book during the day time though. If you haven’t read this series, you should check it out because it is lovely and fun.
