Teaser Tuesday: Rosemarked

Teaser Tuesday: Rosemarked

My Teaser: The potion is the easy part. Perhaps that’s why I spend all my time on it, obsessively refining my mixtures, rather than face the last issue I must settle before I leave. I’ve not yet told my family. I don’t know what I’ll say, and I’m not prepared for their reactions, especaily since I cannot tell them the whole truth.. they’ll be safer if they don’t know the real reason for my quest. To them, I’ll simply be studying and serving in the rosemarked colony as a healer. Finally, with a few days left to spare, I gather […]

Why I am Waiting? Cat Winters is a local author and I haven’t read any of her books yet. I have wanted to read something of hers but nothing has gained my interest until now. Odd and True by Cat Winters sounds amazing and I can’t wait to dive into this story. Have you seen this cover? Odd and True has such a beautiful cover. Maud by Melanie J. Fishbane shows how much work Fishbane put into this novel. I don’t know much about Maud except that she wrote Anne of Green Gables. Which of course Anne of Green Gables. Which of course Anne of Green Gables is amazing. As I was reading Maud, I could tell that Fishbane put in a lot of research for this book. Maud is such a great character. I love the strength that Maud is able to pull from inside herself. Her strength is so inspiring. All Maud wanted to do was be a writer and she accomplished her […]

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

I’ve never seen the movie Labyrinth, so my dislike of this book is not because it didn’t compare to the movie. I was extremely excited to dive into this book. I soon found myself very disappointed with Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones. The main character Elisabeth is extremely whiny and annoying. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get into this story. It is really hard to like a character that comes across pathetic and uninteresting. The Goblin didn’t help himself either. I found myself not wanting to finish this book at all. My determination made me finish especially […]

My Teaser: I should have gone to my grandmother before. Gone the moment I returned from the woods, gone the moment I knew Kathe was stolen. Instead, I let my Constanze hover on the edges of my awareness like a ghost, unable or unwilling to face the ugly truth. Guilt crawled up my throat, leaking from my eyes. My Teaser: He’s still asleep, and I like that I’m allowed to stare at his face for as long as I want. Full lips, straight nose, a scar that recedes into his hairline on the left side of his face. That must have been quite the hit to the head. I wonder if his father did it. Riden never seems to want to talk about his father. Might be because of how his father treated him, or it might be because Riden killed him. Maybe both.     About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer […]

We Are Still Tornadoes by Michael Kun and Susan Mullen is cute and charming. This entire story is written through letters. Reading through letters made the story a very fast read. The reader is introduced to Cath. Cath is in her first year of college and is trying to cope with her parents splitting up. Her father left her mom after getting his secretary pregnant. Then we meet Scott. Scott didn’t apply for any colleges. He is working for his dad and is a song writer in a band. This is the first time that Cath and Scott have been […]

The Deepest Night by Shana Abe sucks you in right away. The story picks up no long after where The Sweetest Dark ended. Lora becomes closer to Armand as she grieves over Jesse. Armand will do anything to keep Lora around, so he ends up turning his home into a hospital for the wounded. He brings Lora on as a nurse in the house. This relationship between Lora and Armand is very strained. I feel like it doesn’t work well for the two of them. As the story moves forward these two characters build on their relationship. Of course, Lora […]
