I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

So “I’ll Give You the Sun” by Jandy Nelson was the October book club pick for the Young at Heart book club. I really struggled with this book. I had a really hard time getting into Jude and Noah’s characters. THe writing style wasn’t for me. I did like the past and present chapters but that was about it. When a book doesn’t grip my attention right away, I rarely end up liking it. “I’ll Give You the Sun” was not for me however many others seem to love it.   About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, […]

Wrath of the Fallen by Kristopher Jerome

Wrath of the Fallen by Kristopher Jerome

“Wrath of the Fallen” by Kristopher Jerome was given to me by Jerome himself. We met at a social media seminar. When he found out that I am a book blogger, he asked if I was willing to take a look at his book. So here is my review and this is my honest and unbiased opinion. The Plot – The plot of “Wrath of the Fallen” has a bit of a slow start. The story begins by introducing all the characters. I feel like the pace would have moved a bit faster if it wasn’t all at the beginning. […]

Review:: Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe By Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Review:: Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe By Benjamin Alire Sáenz

As per my usual, I went in blind. I didn’t know what to expect really I guess just your everyday contemporary fiction. Boy, was I wrong. So very very wrong. Aristotle and Dante Discover the secrets of the Universe was so much more than I expected. The depths reached were insane. I really heard a lot of good things about this book, like how it changed people’s life. The cover is littered with awards. Typically I’m very cautious about the hype I hear were books and movies are concerned. Most things do not live up to the hype for me. […]

My Teaser: “I’m going to have an awesome night with my sisters, and I’m going to stuff my face with cookies, and I’m definitely going to forget about Monkey’s Asshole and his shady little winky emoticon. We relocate to the living room couch, and Bieber passes out cold with the whole front end of his body in Alice’s lap.”   This is our September book club pick. I have not read this yet. I am looking forward to seeing how it is. Right now it is on a major sale on Amazon if you want to check it out!!!   […]

Tiger’s Promise by Colleen Houck

Tiger’s Promise by Colleen Houck

“Tiger’s Promise” by Colleen Houck is a prequel novella to the “Tiger’s Curse Saga.” I recommend that you read this book last because it will spoil a lot for those who have not read the other books. I think “Tiger’s Promise” was definitely a novella worthy to be written. Yesubai has a secret that she wants to keep away from her father. Her father abuses her and lets other men abuse her by treating her like their own personal toy. Yesubai has so much power, yet no one knows. Yesubai is treated like a weak worthless girl and I feel […]

Tiger’s Destiny by Colleen Houck

Tiger’s Destiny by Colleen Houck

It all comes down to “Tiger’s Destiny” by Colleen Houck. I keep going back and forth about what to write for this review. I still think the book was great and I give it 4 stars any time but I feel like there is so much more to this book than a rating. I had a lot of feelings when it came to the end of “Tiger’s Destiny.” I had a feeling that everything was going to come down how it did but I had some hope that I was wrong. The reader is brought back to Kelsey, Kishan, and […]

Tiger’s Quest by Colleen Houck

Tiger’s Quest by Colleen Houck

“Tiger’s Quest” by Colleen Houck was a fantastic sequel to “Tiger’s Curse.” I thought “Tiger’s Quest” was so much better than the last one. Kelsey is trying to pick up her life after she left India and left Ren. She gets into the swing of things at college and she even starts dating. The biggest thing that bothers me about Kelsey is that she complains about not having Ren around but she was the one that pushed him away. She was too afraid to risk her happiness. Then everything changes and Kelsey ends up going on adventure with Kishan. I […]

“Tiger’s Curse” is a story that was not prepared for. I was told by several people that I needed to read this series. Oregon is my state and well this story partially takes place in a city that I am familiar with. I finally gave in and gave “Tiger’s Curse” a try and found that I loved it. I wasn’t ready to get into a huge series like this one. Imagine reading “Breaking Dawn” every book. It is thick. The beginning of “Tiger’s Curse” is very slow. I feel like as the story goes on it really picks up and […]

Ensnared by A.G. Howard

Ensnared by A.G. Howard

The conclusion to “Splintered” by A.G. Howard was everything I wanted and didn’t want. I feel like “Ensnared” was gorgeous and terrible. A.G. Howard has taken her readers on an incredible ride in Wonderland. As many people know. I have always been a fan of “Alice in Wonderland” and Howard’s series has blown me away. The reader picks up where we were left in book two “Unhinged.” Alyssa and her father are off to AnyElsewhere in order to save Alison, Jeb, and Morpheus. The first thing on the list is to get Alyssa’s father’s memories back. Off to the memory […]

The Haunting of Sunshine Girl by Paige McKenzie

The Haunting of Sunshine Girl by Paige McKenzie
Posted March 6, 2016 by love2dazzle in Reviews, Young Adult / 0 Comments

“The Haunting of Sunshine Girl” by Paige McKenzie was a new kind of ghost story. This book is based on the hit YouTube series “Sunshine Girl” that Paige McKenzie starred in as Sunshine. I hadn’t heard of the web-series until after I saw the book and saw Paige McKenzie speak at Wordstock. I have to admit that I was interested in reading her book after she spoke at Wordstock. This novel is about a girl named Sunshine whom moved into a house that is haunted. Sunshine is a very real character in the sense that she seems more human than […]
