The Year of Weddings Novella series is great. I am glad that they were continued for 2015. I was very disappointed in the first novella of the season. The story seemed to be extremely rushed or dragging depending on what part of the story you were in. When Hope was 18 years old she married John but changed her mind right after the vows, so the preacher said that he wouldn’t turn in the paperwork. 10 years later Hope finds out that she is legally married to John. I couldn’t relate to the characters and they were so underdeveloped. Hopefully […]

“A July Bride” by Beth Wiseman was an interesting”Year of Weddings Novella.” This wasn’t my favorite novella but I don’t think it was a bad one either. I think the story was pretty engaging with keeping the reader engaged. Alyssa was left at the altar by the love of her life and she just doesn’t know why. Since that day Brendan has regretted the choices that he made. Trying to win Alyssa back, Brendan is sending Alyssa flowers and gifts profusely apologizing. When Alyssa needs to try to move on, Brendan takes it extremely hard but finally gives in to […]

Mini Review: A June Bride by Marybeth Whalen

Mini Review: A June Bride by Marybeth Whalen

“A June Bride” by M Whalen has been my least favorite wedding novella so far. Wynne was a little too trusting of everyone. Trust is a great attribute to have but the fact that she seemed to trust people blindly. For being a wedding novella, “A June Bride” didn’t have much romance in the story. The storyline of the bride being on a reality tv show is pretty cool and I wish Whalen would have spent a little more time on this concept to make the story more fun. Instead we are given a bit of the background information and then what is […]

So far “A May Bride” by Meg Moseley has been my favorite. I really loved Ellie Martin’s story. I feel like I could relate to her a lot. Ellie was the perfect character for this story because I felt like she is such a great character to relate too. I feel for her as soon as I start getting to know her. Her mom has looks at getting married in a bad light so when Ellie’s sister makes some wrong choices, her mom decides that she is no longer going to pay for a wedding. Ellie has to learn to […]

Stella and Marshall have such a sweet story in “An April Bride” by Lenora Worth. I really can’t imagine how it would feel to have the love of your life come home and not remember you. I feel like Worth tells a great story on how to fall in love again when you feel like all hope is lost. Stella is very excited to see her lontime sweethear Marshall. Everything falls apart when she finds out that Marshall suffered a major head wound that caused him to lose his memories. I think this novella showed a completely different to weddings […]

“A March Bride” by Rachel Hauck is fantastic. I was sucked into this story right away. Who wouldn’t want to get to know the story of a king and a future princess? Susanna makes the perfect future princess. This story shows everything that love should be. One person may be giving up more than the other but if you can just find a way to let the other person know that you care and love them too than things will be okay. Hauck brings amazing characters to life in this Novella for me. Susanna is trying to fit into the […]

“A February Bride” by Betsy St. Amant was definitely a cute little story. The story starts out with Allie and her running away on the day of her wedding. Then the reader is immediately taken into the future where Hannah, Allie’s best friend and the sister of Allie’s ex-fiancé is getting married and she wants Allie to be the maid of honor. Now this means that Allie and her ex-fiancé Marcus are now going to be spending time together during the ceremony showers and the ceremony itself. As the two spend more time together they figure out that they are […]
