The Fire Queen by Emily R. King is an amazing follow up to The Hundredth Queen. Fair warning, this book can’t be read without reading the first book or a lot of events and conversations won’t make sense. Kalinda is finally free from her new husband but her country is falling to pieces. She is off on an adventure to find her late husband’s first born Prince Ashwin. The last thing that Kalinda wants is to be Queen. On this strange journey, Kalinda’s group splits up and Kalinda is taken straight to the Prince. When Kalinda arrives at the Janardanian […]

The Hundredth Queen by Emily R. King is brilliant. I absoultely love the characters and the story line. I fell in love with this book right away. Kalinda is an orphan and lives at one of the Sisterhood’s temples. After Kalinda gets chosen by a benefactor to wed, she is taken away from her beloved home. I really enjoyed Kalinda’s story. She really grew up and showed a lot of promise I am looking forward to diving into book two. These characters are amazing! This story is written so well and I enjoyed everything about it. The Gold-Son by Carrie Anne Noble is charming and delightful. The Gold-Son reads a lot like a fiary tale story with a bit of a modern twist. This story has a great folk lore presence. I enjoyed the characters a lot. Tommin Kelly is always wanting to steal things. He doesn’t understand why. If only he knew his heritage. IT is hard when you don’t know the truth about who you are and where you come from. This is what Tommin had to deal with all the time. Carrie Anne Noble brings a beautiful story to her readers. As a […]

Ali: Hi Carrie, Welcome to Dazzled by Books. We are so excited to have you stop by today. I wanted to start off today’s interview with something fun, so what is your favorite book of 2017 so far? Carrie Anne: The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. It’s a beautifully written fairy tale that blends characters from Russian folklore with Arden’s own artfully created cast.  A: I have not read that one yet but it is definitely on my list. Did you always want to be a writer? CA: Yes! I started making up plays and little newspapers at a very early age. I attempted my […]

Excerpt: “You didn’t let these two guys rape her. They did what they did because they felt entitled. Because they wanted control. Because they were aggressive and awful. Because they wanted to feel some screwed-up sense of manhood. Because…I don’t know. Because they had a million kinds of wrong running through them. You did not make them rapists. Kerry did not make them rapists. They were already sick, and Kerry got caught in their path. He pulls my hand, and I move closer to him. Esben holds eye contact as though I am keeping him from falling apart, and I […]

Excerpt: “Did you hear that, Anna?” Bianca says as both of their heads come up at the same time. “You still want to defend her?” She gestures at me. “What happened?” “The FBI is going to start questioning ‘technocrats of interest,;’” Anna says, giving me a wary look. “They’ve generated a list, along with a registry of unique Cerepin IDs based on who’s connected to the DC network, and they’re matching them to individual users and their locations. Did you know about this?” “Is that official news?” About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in […]

“Shining Sea” by Mimi Cross is extremely enjoyable. This story really got to me. Arion is a great character. There are items that I really liked Ario and other times I wanted to shake some sense into her. Cross’ writing really shows in this book. I think her writing is beautiful and very poetic.
