Of Neptune by Anna Banks is a great conclusion to the Syrena series. Emma is told about a secret place of Syrena half-breeds. Gaelin and Emma end up finding this place and of course Emma wants to stay and learn more. Gaelin and Emma get into a fight and Gaelin takes off. Emma being stranded in Neptune decides to learn everything she can about this town. It definitely helps that Reed, a Syrena half-breed is there to keep Emma company. Reed is definitely a relentless flirt and Emma isn’t totally sure what to think. Gaelin and Emma have issues just […]

Of Triton by Anna Banks is a beautiful sequel in the Syrena world. Here we have many established characters that add a lot to the story. This book really focused on the rules and politics of the Syrena world. They way the Syrena world is set up is so interesting to me. It is almost like a mix of modern world and old world. I loved getting to know the way of this society works better. Emma’s history of her life is being completely rewritten. now she doesn’t know what to think. I really admired Emma in this book because […]

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks is so good. I can’t believe it took me so long to read this book. Emma is such a snarky main character; and I absolutely loved every bit of it. She is a girl after my own heart. The world building is so good. I felt like I really understood the Syrena Kingdom, rules, society, and people. Banks really creates a world that you can get lost in. Galen and Emma are the perfect point of views. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters. Galen and Emma’s interactions provide plenty of entertainment. Emma learns […]

It took me awhile to read Fairest by Marissa Meyer because I wasn’t sure if I could feel sympathetic towards Levana. I also wasn’t sure if I wanted to know her story. After reading the new graphic novel Wires and Nerves by Marissa Meyer, I decided I wanted to get to know Levana more. I was ready. Fairest was amazing. I was so surprised at the content that I got. I felt so bad for everything Levana went through. Now this didn’t mean I liked her because she is still the villain that I love to hate but this book […]

Wires and Nerve, Volume 1 by Marissa Meyer is great. I really enjoyed this graphic novel. Wires and Nerve takes place after WInter and before the “ending” short story in Stars Above. This graphic novel focuses mainly around IKO but all of our other favorite characters show up Wires and Nerve contains many spoilers from this series, so please be aware if you have not read The Lunar Chronicles yet. I really enjoyed these characters coming to life in a new way. Meyer kept the story fun and entertaining. The artwork is great. I thought the illustrator did a wonderful […]

Why I am Waiting? I just finished Flawed and absolutely loved it. I can’t get enough of this story and these characters. I am really looking forward to book two. Heartless by Marissa Meyer is a wonderful retelling. Heartless is not a traditional retelling though. It is more of a prequel that is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Someone asked me what villian I thought was the most misunderstood and my answer is the Queen of Hearts. Then they asked me why I thought the Queen of Hearts is misunderstood. Talking to this person, they thought if I wrote a blog post about it to explain, then I could share why I think that. My answer is…read Heartless and you have my answer right there. I hadn’t read Heartless at […]

My Teaser: With tales of the Jabberwock renewed, the Marchioness had worried that people would stay locked up in their homes during the festival, but her concerns seemed unfounded. The crowd bustled and thrived. Catherine smiled her way through the familiar faces, but her mind was distracted, her eyes always searching for the one person she wanted to see. When we all thought the end was over, Meyer decided to give us just a bit more. I loved how we got to know the characters a little more. The Keeper: I loved getting to know Michelle Benoit. Michelle Benoit is a character that I really wanted to get to know more and I got my wish. I was thankful Meyer gave me the chance. “The Keeper” spans across seven years. Benoit is given Cinder to protect, but then Scarlet comes to live with her. Scarlet being in the house makes things a lot more complicated. I really liked learning […]

Why I am Waiting? Did someone say pirates? Who is going to turn down pirates? I love books with pirates. Pirates are always fun. I am even dressing up to go to a pirate ball in November. To make things even more cool the author is from Oregon. Yes, I said Oregon. Which is only the best state ever. I am looking forward to reading this novel.   About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR.
