The Replacement Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts

The Replacement Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts

I think I would have loved The Replacement Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts if I didn’t know the real world of blogging. This book was way too shallow for me. I found myself not entertained. Viv was a bit entertaining in the story. She spends the time trying to find a new crush to replace her old crush and well it was comical to me. I loved how Viv stuck to her guns and became who she wanted to be. Standing up for herself is the best thing that I could ever ask for. It was kind of cute to […]

Micaela returns to Sleepy Hollow after she mother dies. She recieved a letter days before her mothered died for her to return back to Sleepy Hollow. Micaela suspects that something is going on in this town. It makes it more suspicious that Micaela’s mother sent the letter to Micaela’s best friend and not to her. As Micaela learns more about what is going on in the town, she suspects more and more that her mother’s death was not an accident. I had a hard time trying to connect with any of the characters. It is hard to fall in love […]

Book Review: Spindle by Shonna Slayton

Book Review: Spindle by Shonna Slayton

“Spindle” by Shonna Slayton took me for a whirlwind. I still don’t totally know how I feel about this book. Briar rose is working at a spinning mill trying to earn money for her family. Everything in Briar’s world is falling apart. She may lose everything. I really like that Briar Rose is made into a strong character. I love that the story takes place during the Industrial Revolution. Like Slayton’s other books, the story focuses around an artifact from the fairy-tale. Again Slayton does a wonderful job bringing magic to a more modern world. A few things I […]

The Sound of Us Body Positivity Blog Series and Giveaways: What is a Beautiful Body?

What is a Beautiful Body? What is the first thing you see, when you look at someone? Is it their loving heart? Their snarky attitude? How about the way the way their heart breaks when they see someone else hurting? These are not the things we see at first glance. These are things we see when we get to know someone. The first thing I see about a person is something about their body. Maybe it is their smile or how beautiful that girl looks in her dress? Whatever you see first is something physical. There really isn’t way around […]

Book Review: Lola Carlyle’s 12-Step Romance by Danielle Younge-Ullman

Book Review: Lola Carlyle’s 12-Step Romance by Danielle Younge-Ullman
Posted May 8, 2015 by love2dazzle in Reviews, Young Adult / 0 Comments

I am sad to say that this novel ended up in my Did Not Finish pile. “Lola Carlyle’s 12-Step Romance” by Danielle Younge-Ullman was nothing like what I thought it was going to be like. I feel like the synopsis is deceiving. Lola Carlyle is the daughter of a washed-up soap opera actress and a well-known director. Lola doesn’t have a good relationship with her parents. Lola decides to try to fake an addiction to try to get into rehab to try to win her crush and teen heart-throb Wade Miller. I feel like this story had a lot of language in it. […]

Book Review: Life Unaware by Cole Gibsen

Book Review: Life Unaware by Cole Gibsen

I think “Life Unaware” by Cole Gibsen ultimately has a good message about the effects of bullying and social media. It could have been a really good novel but I feel as if it just did not reach its potential at all. There was a lot of unnecessary swearing. Actually that is more of an understatement, there is  an extreme amount of unnecessary swearing. People seem to think that teenagers swear up a storm but really they don’t so I feel like this just portrays teenagers in a negative light. I think this book could have been so much better without […]
