bookish candles: I own Stub Tail Candle Co. and I enjoy making bookish and fandom candles. You can find us here.  A few things I look forward when I am finding inspiration for a candle is what does the book say. The author has already done most of the work for me by writing their amazing book, so all I have to do it pay attention. Creating a candle is hard work but I find it quite rewarding once I have this perfect beautiful candle in my position. I strive to make sure it looks beautiful but also smells amazing. […]

The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine

The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine is so good. I really enjoyed getting to know Lorelai and Koi. I love there banter and cute swoony moments. I think that the characters in this normal fit perfectly together. I really enjoyed the story and plot. The characters are developed well and really get you hooked. I became invested in these characters and really wanted to know how they ended up. I was expecting this story to be more from the point of view of the evil queen and it was not. I was slightly disappointed but got over that quite soon […]

Posted January 16, 2017 by love2dazzle in Features, Promo Blitz / 4 Comments

Today as part of the TSAR’S GUARD SPOTLIGHT TOUR, I want to share my top five reasons as to why I love The Crown’s Game. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did writing it. 5. Magic! Who doesn’t love magic? For those that haven’t read The Crown’s Game, there is a game of sorts that two contestants have to out magic each other. I’ve never experienced magic this way in a book. Skye did a wonderful job with the magic and making the magic interesting. The game is very creative and imaginative. These two enchanters make […]

Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch

Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch

Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch is an amazing conclusion to the Snow Like Ashes series. I really enjoyed Meira. Meira has grown up so much since book one. It is amazing that this series started out with Meira feeling worthless and only wanted to find her place in the world to a Meira that is a kick-ass Queen fighting for her people. Angra is one of the best villains I’ve read. He plays the perfect bad guy. Angra is affecting many of the kingdoms with the decay. The one thing brought out different sides of our characters that I […]

Book Review: Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

Book Review: Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

“Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda” by Becky Albertalli was sweet. Being in someone’s head is very interesting. Simon is gay but he is not out of the closet yet. He has a secret pen pal who is also gay. Now these two don’t know who the other is. They aren’t at the point of revealing themselves. They seem to enjoy talking about life and their school. I liked the letters portion of the book. It was fun reading through emails. I was more interested in reading the emails of what the characters were going through instead of the story […]

My Teaser: “I’m going to have an awesome night with my sisters, and I’m going to stuff my face with cookies, and I’m definitely going to forget about Monkey’s Asshole and his shady little winky emoticon. We relocate to the living room couch, and Bieber passes out cold with the whole front end of his body in Alice’s lap.”   This is our September book club pick. I have not read this yet. I am looking forward to seeing how it is. Right now it is on a major sale on Amazon if you want to check it out!!!   […]

Why I am Waiting? I am waiting because I can’t get enough of this cover. I love it! It is beautiful and creepy all at the same time. Not to mention who doesn’t love a Romeo and Juliet retelling? I am really interested in reading this book and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR. Waiting on Wednesday: Diplomatic Immunity

Waiting on Wednesday: Diplomatic Immunity

Why I am Waiting? I am waiting because No. 1) I really like Brodi Ashton. No. 2) I have a thing for political themed books. I think it is really interesting learning about how the different countries deal with each other on U.S. soil. Embassy Row is definitely a place on interest for me. The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

“The Crown’s Game” by Evelyn Skye has been one of my most anticipated reads of 2016. I was lucky enough to be blessed with an ARC. Two opposing enchanters are set against each other in something called ‘The Crown’s Game.’ This ‘Crown’s Game’ is to compete to see who will get to be the Imperial Enchanter for the Tsar. This novel takes place in Imperial Russia. I don’t know too much about Imperial Russia but it was definitely a lot of fun to get to know. The concept of this ‘Crown’s Game’ was so interesting because it wasn’t just a […]
