Why I am Waiting? Cat Winters is a local author and I haven’t read any of her books yet. I have wanted to read something of hers but nothing has gained my interest until now. Odd and True by Cat Winters sounds amazing and I can’t wait to dive into this story. Have you seen this cover? Odd and True has such a beautiful cover.   My Teaser: The sun had set. With Mama and Isaac still teasing Jon Cox mercilessly, we rotated our hay bales to face the bonfire, which roared up into the purpling sky. I scanned the faces in the bonfire crowd. They flashed yellow-orange in the changing light. A few Theater sophomores sat half a dozen hay bales to the left. To our right, the Minuets hooted with laughter, cluttering up the air. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR. RoseBlood by A.G. Howard is not as fabulous as I hoped it would be. I loved the Splintered books, so I had high hopes but truly I shouldn’t have. I was excited for a phantom of the opera retelling. I am not the hugest fan but I’ve enjoyed the legends. Since RoseBlood is such a popular book, I will break things down that way if you are reading this, you can skip around to the parts you want to read. Writing: The writing is really good. I enjoyed A.G. Howard’s writing like always. The story flowed well. There are a […]

My Teaser: Thorn ended his violin’s song with a gradual slide of the bow, letting the note carry on a mournful wail through his underground home- the place he’d lived since he’d vowed his loyalty and devotion to the Phantom twelve years ago, a pact sealed by the blood of evil men. My Teaser: Gael was with Cara on this one-a video scavenger hunt sounded next-level lame-and yet he couldn’t’ help but appreciate that Sammy took Piper so seriously. He knew Piper loved that.   About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR. Splintered by A. G. Howard

“Splintered” is absolutely amazing. I am a huge fan of “Alice in Wonderland,” so I was very excited to read someone else’s retelling. This was a very creep and cool take on the traditional story though. Many times I was like “okay…what is really going on here?” I fell in love with everything. I really like the mixture of present day and the story of Wonderland. A. G. Howard has an amazing imagination. I think her take on Wonderland is fabulous and creepy. Who doesn’t love fabulous and creepy? I think the world of Wonderland is what brings you in […]
