Why I am Waiting? I love fun light contemporary reads. I think this one is right up my alley. It sounds a lot of fun and it is described as being beachey. I think it will be a good fit for both myself and my website. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR. Book Review: Before Goodbye by Mimi Cross

Book Review: Before Goodbye by Mimi Cross

This is a story about Cate. Cate starts off the book hanging out with her best friend Cal who she also has feelings for. Then everything comes crashing down and Cal dies in a car accident. Now Cate is recovering and blames herself for everything. Now David is the other point of view in this story but I feel like he is more there to support Cate in the process that she goes through since he has been through something similar. This story is about the process of these characters healing. The hard thing about this story, is I feel like […]

Ali: Welcome Mimi, I want to start off by finding out what is your favorite book of 2015 so far? Abigail Breslin has a book?! Okay so I was intrigued but not impress. Lots of celebrities have books now. Why should Breslin be any different? One day I was bored and wandering around, so I picked of Breslin’s book just to take a look at it. I scanned it as I was waiting and found that I really liked the unique style that the book was written in. I don’t know if that was Breslin’s idea or the editor’s but I was very intrigued and wanted to read further. I decided to order my own copy. Little did I know […]

Anna-Marie: My family, the beautiful cultures I grew up in, and the work of other artists, not just books but visual art, music, and so much more. Ali: What is your favorite thing about writing “The Weight of Feathers“? Anna-Marie: I loved writing the descriptions of the Palomas’ and the Corbeaus’ shows. My Teaser: She wanted to ask why he hadn’t told Cluck who she was, but bit back the question in case she’d been wrong. If Alain Corbeau hadn’t recognized the paloma in her, hadn’t seen the feather on her arm, she wasn’t telling. Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton

Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton

Nothing compares to the revenge of Prima Ballerinas. This story is definitely filled with many horrors of back-stabbing. I cringed so much while reading this story. Some of the things these girls did to each other were horrible. “Tiny Pretty Things” by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton was a great book. I feel like it really got into the nitty-gritty of the behind the scenes of ballet. Side not about ballet and dance in general. I have never been to a professional academy or company like this book portrays, however I have danced for many, many years and yes dancers are a lot like this. […]

My Teaser: I move my butterfly terrarium to my desk, and I crack the window open. Snow collects on the sill, and some of it flutters inside. I watch it accumulate into little mounds an can’t focus on my math homework. I love how the little flakes pause on the window before melting into drops. Back home, the mist over San Francisco never transformed into anything this pretty. This is what February should look like. This is what Valentine’s day should be like. Why I am Waiting? If you read “Exile,” then ther eshould be no surprise as why I am anxiously waiting for “Ecore to an Empty Room.” Emerson is such a fantastic writer. I look forward to this storyline of the bankd continuing on their adventure of tracking down the tapes. Each song is unique and I love that the names of the missing songs are the names of the book titles. I will be so excited once I have my hands on this book. Interview with Kevin Emerson Ali: Being a musician how did you get into writing? Kevin Emerson: I have been a writer as a kid before I was a practicing musician. As a kid I wrote fan fiction, it wasn’t called that then though. I have kind of been doing both all along. Ali: Exile is so much different than “The Lost Code.” What made you decide to write a contemporary? Kevin Emerson: It is a voice that I really wanted to write for awhile. I really wanted to write a story about a band. I have been in a tone […]
