I really, really, really, wanted to love “The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem” by Sarit Yishai-Levi but I just couldn’t. I found myself bored. I think the story is a great idea but I just couldn’t fall in love with the characters. I had a hard time getting to know Gabriela and her family. The characters were just so boring to me that I couldn’t find a way to make the story fun and memorable for me. I think the characters could have been written so much better to where the story didn’t drag on. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a […]

“Jackaby” by William Ritter was so much fun to read. I enjoyed every little bit of it. The cover of “Jackaby” is so gorgeous. I think the cover is just so appealing. I think if I hadn’t had heard about this book already that the cover would draw me in just as much. Abagail Rook is trying to make her way in the world and she ends up in the employment of Mr. Jackaby. Now Mr. Jackaby discourages Abagail Rook every chance he gets telling her that the job is way too dangerous for her. Ms. Rook has a good […]

Mirabella is the daughter of a marquess and she is ready to get married. When her intentions regarding marriage are spread around, she ends up with three very good prospects right away. The story is definitely filled with romance and happy endings. I had a really hard time getting into the characters on this one. The writing is good. The story is pretty well done. I just couldn’t find any type of connection. I think I will be filing this one as its me not you situation. Mini Review: I had a hard time getting into “Succession” by Livi Michael. I feel like Michael’s writing is just too rigid. There is no flow to the words on the page. I want to read a book that is going to keep me interested and I feel like “Succession” was really lacking in that. I love English/British history. I was disappointed that I didn’t love this book. I think it could have been better. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR. Why I am Waiting? I am waiting for “Velvet Undercover” because it sounds so amazing. Who can’t resist a spy novel? Since Gallagher Girls has ended I need something else to fill my interest in spy novels. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR. Book Review: The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher

Book Review: The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher

daz”The Shell Seekers” by Rosamunde Pilcher had a great plot but it was really hard to like the two main characters. Pilcher writes specifically to try to get her readers to like certain characters and dislike others. I being as opinionated as I am ended up doing the opposite. I liked the characters that we as readers are supposed to hate and disliked the characters we are supposed to love. Olivia is considered to be a special child however I feel like she asks really bratty to everyone else. She breaks up with a guy she is dating because she finds out that he is […]

What was it like writing an adult fairy tale? What was the road to your writing of the book? Child’s Play Revisiting the Neverland through grown-up eyes According to J. M. Barrie, the Neverland is a paradise for children, where they can play all day and never have to grow up. But it must be a horrible thing for a man to be trapped forever in a world run by the uncensored willfulness of children. The original Peter Pan is all about the fear of growing up. At the start of the play, Wendy is told that tomorrow, she’s going […]
