Passenger by Alexandra Bracken is a journey. When Passenger first came out, I tried to read it but it was so slow that I had to give up. I decided to try it again this year. Knowing that the beginning of Passenger was going to be really slow due to the world building, I was more prepared for round two. As the story moved forward I became hooked. Ella gets thrown into a world that she didn’t know existed. Etta comes from a family of time travelers but she was unaware of this unique gift. It is very interesting learning […]

Why I am Waiting? I am really looking forward to Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo. I love Bardugo’s writing and I think she is going to do an amazing job with Wonder Woman. This story is going to be amazing. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR. The Siren by Kiera Cass

I was waiting for “The Siren” by Kiera Cass for what seemed like forever. The old version was taken off the shelves. I had to wait for the new version to come out by HarperTeen. I ended up getting lucky and acquired an ARC. I dove right in; however my review has been long anticipated since I finished the book a while ago. Summary: Kahlen was supposed to die. She shouldn’t have lived. Her family is gone. Miraculously, Kahlen ends up being saved by the Ocean to become a siren. Kahlen is now a very deadly weapon. She and her other Siren […]

I am currently reading “The Court of Mist and Fury.” I am loving the boo so far, but I have to say this is definitely not a book for teens. I am very interested to see what is going to happen to all of the characters in this one. I can’t wait to finish it. The Only Thing Worse Than Me Is You Blog Tour: Excerpt and Review

PRAISE: “A hilarious, heartfelt book that treats pop culture and Shakespeare with the same reverence and adoration, THE ONLY THING WORSE THAN ME IS YOU a perfect geeky read that I wish I’d had in high school. If you could rate books on a scale of comic book conditions, this book would be MINT.”-Eric Smith, blogger and author of The Geek’s Guide to Dating “There’s a lot to enjoy in debut novelist Anderson’s geek-positive update of Much Ado About Nothing, including intense comic book fandom, a cheating scandal, student council drama, themed dances, and two central characters engaged in an […]

Untamed by A. G. Howard

Untamed by A. G. Howard

“Untamed” by A. G. Howard was a sweet tribute to the beloved characters that we have fallen in love with. I fell in love with the “Splintered” series right away. I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and this seemed like such a perfect fit for me. I’ve missed these characters since I finished “Ensnared.” It was nice to get to revisit each of them again. I feel like “Untamed” was written specifically for the fans. These are for the ones that want just that little bit more of the world and characters that Howard created. “Untamed” is three […]

Praise for “The Star – Touched Queen:”  “A setting drawn from ancient India, romance with feminist sensibilities, and a unique magic system…a stunning debut filled with lush writing, smart characters, and a mysterious plot that provides as many twists as it does swoons.” —School Library Journal, STARRED Review “Chokshi’s rich, descriptive writing weaves a lush web…a swoony romance, betrayal, and a journey to power and self-affirmation, with a slightly wicked, slightly funny animal sidekick in the best tradition… work together to create a spell that many readers will willingly succumb to. Richly imagined, deeply mythic, filled with lovely language with […]

Ali: Thank you Nora for stopping by Dazzled by Books today. It is really great to have you here. I want to start off this interview with a hard question but it is totally good, what is your favorite book of 2016 so far? Nora: Not that any of them were published in 2016, but of the books I’ve read so far this year, I’ve really enjoyed All The Bright Places (YA), Big Little Lies (Women’s Fiction) and All The Light We Cannot See (Literary). (There’s a “light” theme apparently.) I am also deeply excited for Curtis Sittenfeld’s Eligible. A: […]

Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck

“Tiger’s Curse” is a story that was not prepared for. I was told by several people that I needed to read this series. Oregon is my state and well this story partially takes place in a city that I am familiar with. I finally gave in and gave “Tiger’s Curse” a try and found that I loved it. I wasn’t ready to get into a huge series like this one. Imagine reading “Breaking Dawn” every book. It is thick. The beginning of “Tiger’s Curse” is very slow. I feel like as the story goes on it really picks up and […]

Trial by Fire by Chris Cannon

Trial by Fire by Chris Cannon

“Trial by Fire” by Chris Canon was a good continuation of the series. I feel like this was a much slower book than the first two. Bryn and her dragons are still recovering from the attacks from the other dragons. The school has been partially destroyed and many are injured. Since the dragon society is a big different the blue dragons want all the injured dragons to stay home but Bryn comes up with a different idea. It was great getting back to Bryn and her situation of slowly learning how to live in this new dragon society since she […]
