I really, really, really, wanted to love “The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem” by Sarit Yishai-Levi but I just couldn’t. I found myself bored. I think the story is a great idea but I just couldn’t fall in love with the characters. I had a hard time getting to know Gabriela and her family. The characters were just so boring to me that I couldn’t find a way to make the story fun and memorable for me. I think the characters could have been written so much better to where the story didn’t drag on. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a […]

I was really disappointed with this book. I couldn’t get into the characters at all and honestly. I wasn’t able to get to know the characters and the main character only seemed to care about having sex. Lily is planning on marrying her dream guy in one week. Will is the perfect guy. For some reason marrying Will isn’t enough for her. She just continues to have as many one night stands as she can before her wedding day. I just feel like this book was glamorizing the drinking, one night stands, and cheating. I just felt like this book […]

Book Review: The Wednesday Group by Sylvia True

Book Review: The Wednesday Group by Sylvia True

“The Wednesday Group” by Sylvia True is different. I am torn between a good different and a bad different, so it is just different. A group on women get together every Wednesday night for therapy. In therapy, the women are able to talk about their feelings, their husbands, their addictions, and their lives. The point of this group is to connect with others who may be going through the same issues as you. This is definitely a fast read and one that you won’t want to put the book down until you finish. It also feels like the story is […]

Emmaline Nelson is 18 years old and is destined to marry her childhood friend, Ambrose. She is supposed to settle down and be a farmer’s wife in a small town in Minnesota. Then she meets a young man from North Dakota and she questions everything she had previously planned. This story is more than just to people who fall in love from different religions. This story is supposed to show that the happily ever after fairytale is not the end of the story. The end of the story is having a happy life with someone you love. This story is […]

Book Review: In Some Other World, Maybe by Shari Goldhagen

“In Some Other World, Maybe” by Shari Goldhagen is a very interesting book. Goldhagen starts off as a strong writer with a strong story but then she seems to teeter off somewhere. Goldhagen used a time period that she was familiar with but he story was just really boring. It was really hard to stay focus on some parts of the story because it seemed to move so slowly. This book just seems like it was rushed through the publishing and editing process because it just doesn’t seem to be complete. In 1992, Adam lived in Florida. He takes his crush to a movie. […]

Book Review: Atlantia by Ally Condie

Book Review: Atlantia by Ally Condie

“Atlantia” by Ally Condie was a very pleasant surprise. I knew this story wasn’t going to be about mermaids which is what the big discussion was when the cover reveal took place. I also wasn’t expecting the story that I got. This was in a good way.  I loved “Atlantia.” I thought it was a great book. Condie writes so beautifully. Rio and Bay live in the below called “Atlantia.” When they were 15 years old, their mother dies and they have to control of their own lives. Once a year the children below can choose to either stay below or […]
