Ali: Thank you Nora for stopping by Dazzled by Books today. It is really great to have you here. I want to start off this interview with a hard question but it is totally good, what is your favorite book of 2016 so far? Nora: Not that any of them were published in 2016, but of the books I’ve read so far this year, I’ve really enjoyed All The Bright Places (YA), Big Little Lies (Women’s Fiction) and All The Light We Cannot See (Literary). (There’s a “light” theme apparently.) I am also deeply excited for Curtis Sittenfeld’s Eligible. A: […]

Island in the Sea by Anita Hughes

Island in the Sea by Anita Hughes

“Island in the Sea” by Anita Hughes was good but not as good as the past books that I have read by Hughes. I was a big disappointed on all the product names. It seemed to be more products pushing than anything else. I get that Lionel was supposed to be super famous and all but all the brand name products was unnecessary. I was really looking forward to this book because I have really liked the past novels by Hughes. I feel like “Island in the Sea” is a bit mediocre. Hughes didn’t spend a lot of time setting […]

Book Review: The Wedding Chapel by Rachel Hauck

Book Review: The Wedding Chapel by Rachel Hauck

Once again Rachel Hauck does not disappoint. “The Wedding Chapel” was a fantastic read. Hauck is an author that draws her readers into the story right away and has them hooked until the very end. This story has a dual timeline that follows two couples. One in the present day and the other is post World War II. The present day couple is trying hard not to repeat the mistakes that have been made by their families and an older couple was separated during the War that changed their lives for 60 years. I love how Hauck is able to […]

This is a sweetheart story of two teens fall in love after disasters mess up their entire worlds. Ruby has the hugest crush on Drew. Now Drew is Ruby’s brother’s best friend and well Drew betrayed her brother, so now Ruby doesn’t think they could ever be together. Drew has a devastating background and it was very interesting how the author incorporated everything into the story. The story was a good nugget, but I feel like it was really lacking in character development. It was hard to fall in love with the characters, when it felt like they weren’t ever […]

I really wanted to be in love with this book but it just wasn’t doing it for me. Shannon wakes up from a coma and has to figure out how to immerse herself back into the world after it has been 10 years. Technology has changed so much in the last 10 years. I think the relationships between the characters were done well and the characters themselves were okay. I was a bit disappointed because I just couldn’t find a connection to Shannon. The story was cute. It is a Sleeping Beauty/Aurora retelling. I think it is a cute idea […]
