Between the Blade and the Heart Blog Tour: Review, Giveaway, Q&A, and Excerpt

Q&A with Amanda Hocking   Q: What or who was the inspiration behind Between the Blade and the Heart? A: I have already written several books inspired by Scandinavian folklore, and I was always fascinated by Valkyries. But because I had already done in Scandinavian fantasy, I wanted to come at this one from a different angle. I imagined the Valkyries helping to police a gritty, diverse, cyberpunk metropolis, in a world filled with not just Norse figures but from many mythologies.   Q: What are the life lessons that you want readers to glean from your book? A: That […]

Death and Night by Roshani Chokshi is a great little insight to The Star-Touched Queen. I have to say that I actually enjoyed Death and Night way more than The Star-Touched Queen. It was great getting to know Maya and Amar better. Their story is so sweet and interesting. Chokshi writes very beautifully in this novella. At First Blush by Beth Ellyn Summer is a very cute and summery read. This book takes you behind the scenes of makeup vlogging. I found this book kind of interesting because I watch makeup vlogs. We really need more contemporary novels that show online personas. As society continues on growing, people are becoming famous because of YouTube. I hope to see more books like this in the future. At First Blush is definitely cute and the characters make the story a fun read. About love2dazzle Ali Kiki is a reader, writer, reviewer, blogger, and photographer in Portland, OR. An […]

Teaser Tuesday: Rosemarked

My Teaser: The potion is the easy part. Perhaps that’s why I spend all my time on it, obsessively refining my mixtures, rather than face the last issue I must settle before I leave. I’ve not yet told my family. I don’t know what I’ll say, and I’m not prepared for their reactions, especaily since I cannot tell them the whole truth.. they’ll be safer if they don’t know the real reason for my quest. To them, I’ll simply be studying and serving in the rosemarked colony as a healer. Finally, with a few days left to spare, I gather […]

The Inevitable Collision of Birdie & Bash Blog Tour

The Inevitable Collision of Birdie & Bash Blog Tour

Review: The Inevitable Collison of Birdie and Bash by Candace Ganger is center around a huge tragic event. Bash and his friend are in a car that runs over Birdie’s little brother. Birdie’s little brother has a slim chance of survival from this accident. Unfortunately, no one takes responsibility for this accident. When Bash and Birdie end up working together at the local skating rink, Bash has a hard time keeping his secret. Bash struggles a lot internally with whether he should tell Birdie what he did. I think it is nice to see both sides of the story to […]

Maud by Melanie Fishbane

Maud by Melanie J. Fishbane shows how much work Fishbane put into this novel. I don’t know much about Maud except that she wrote Anne of Green Gables. Which of course Anne of Green Gables. Which of course Anne of Green Gables is amazing. As I was reading Maud, I could tell that Fishbane put in a lot of research for this book. Maud is such a great character. I love the strength that Maud is able to pull from inside herself. Her strength is so inspiring. All Maud wanted to do was be a writer and she accomplished her […]

The Nanny Arrangement by Rachel Harris is amazing ya’ll. I love this story. Everyone knows that I am a huge fan of Rachel Harris’. Hannah’s story is by far one of my favorites. Hannah Fisher is such a relate-able character. I really enjoyed getting to know her. My favorite trope is the friends to lovers. I find something so romantic about it. Hannah and Deacon have been friends for what seems like forever. Readers, I can’t begin to tell you that the friendship these two have is one that all people should strive to have. These two love and care […]
