Spindle Fire by Lexa Hillyer is a lot different than I was expecting. I really enjoyed it. This story is mostly a retelling of Sleeping Beauty but there is a bit of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland mixed in too. I was surprise to find that a good check on this book takes place with the faeries. Isabelle and Aurora are half sisters. Poor Isabelle is an illegitimate child of the King’s and so she isn’t treated very well. Her sight was taken by the fairies as payment for a change in Aurora’s curse. Aurora has lost her voice and sense […]

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco is amazing. I really enjoyed this book. I seem to have a thing for historical murder mystery books. This story is delightful and dark, which drew me in right away. I actually only had two guesses as to who the murderer was and one of my guesses was right! The characters in this book are fantastic. I really enjoyed Audrey Rose. she knows what she wants and isn’t going to let anyone stop her. Audrey Rose is strong and determined. She is so smart and I am glad she doesn’t take crap from […]

Of Neptune by Anna Banks is a great conclusion to the Syrena series. Emma is told about a secret place of Syrena half-breeds. Gaelin and Emma end up finding this place and of course Emma wants to stay and learn more. Gaelin and Emma get into a fight and Gaelin takes off. Emma being stranded in Neptune decides to learn everything she can about this town. It definitely helps that Reed, a Syrena half-breed is there to keep Emma company. Of Triton by Anna Banks is a beautiful sequel in the Syrena world. Here we have many established characters that add a lot to the story. This book really focused on the rules and politics of the Syrena world. They way the Syrena world is set up is so interesting to me. It is almost like a mix of modern world and old world. I loved getting to know the way of this society works better. Emma’s history of her life is being completely rewritten. now she doesn’t know what to think. I really admired Emma in this book because […]

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks is so good. I can’t believe it took me so long to read this book. Emma is such a snarky main character; and I absolutely loved every bit of it. She is a girl after my own heart. The world building is so good. I felt like I really understood the Syrena Kingdom, rules, society, and people. Banks really creates a world that you can get lost in. Galen and Emma are the perfect point of views. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters. Galen and Emma’s interactions provide plenty of entertainment. Emma learns […]

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth is so good. I know there is so much controversy regarding this book. I even was attacked and unfriended by people who were upset about me posting Instagram pictures. Here is my answer towards all for that, if a book is already on my TBR and there is controversy, I am still going to read the  book. I deserve to form my own opinion. I am not one who decides to read or not read a book because of drama. With that being said here is my review. Review: I enjoyed Carve the Mark. […]

That Summer by Sarah Dessen

That Summer by Sarah Dessen

Review: That Summer by Sarah Dessen had such a realistic story plot that I was drawn in right away. Haven is gong through so many changes in her life. Her dad left. Her sister is getting married. Her mom wants to sell their house. Haven’s entire life is spinning out of control and she doesn’t have a choice over any of it. I may not have experienced any of the issues that Haven has experienced, but I can relate to how she felt. Haven tries to grasp some point of her life that she loved and hold on to […]

The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine is so good. I really enjoyed getting to know Lorelai and Koi. I love there banter and cute swoony moments. I think that the characters in this normal fit perfectly together. I really enjoyed the story and plot. The characters are developed well and really get you hooked. I became invested in these characters and really wanted to know how they ended up. I was expecting this story to be more from the point of view of the evil queen and it was not. I was slightly disappointed but got over that quite soon […]

Flawed by Cecelia Ahern is absoultely amazing. i can’t even express how much I love this book. Flawed is about Celestine, she lives in a society where people get branded if they are found flawed and not perfect. If you are proven to be flawed, jlife changes as you know it. A flawed member of society no longer has the freedom to do what they want, eat what they want, stay out late, have privacy, and much more. This society is ruled by a government known as the Guild. The Guild is  like a court of judges. The world is not a […]

Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff is just as good as Illuminae. I love that we got to meet new characters and a new ship. Once again Kaufman and Kristoff brought readers a really good story. I love that Marie Lu did the beautiful illustrations. Like Illuminae, I listened to the audio book and read the book at the same time. This time around, we are introduced to Hanna and Nik. Hanna and Nik have amazing chemistry. It is extremely enhoyable to get to knwo these new character and new ship. I love that this book is a companion […]
