Title: Bad Penny Author: Staci Hart Genre: Contemporary Romance About Bad Penny: Nothing good comes after the third date. Date three is the crucial point when things get real, which is exactly why I bounce out the door, twiddling my fingers at whatever poor boy I’ve left behind. Ali: Hi Carrie, Welcome to Dazzled by Books. We are so excited to have you stop by today. I wanted to start off today’s interview with something fun, so what is your favorite book of 2017 so far? Carrie Anne: The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. It’s a beautifully written fairy tale that blends characters from Russian folklore with Arden’s own artfully created cast.  A: I have not read that one yet but it is definitely on my list. Did you always want to be a writer? CA: Yes! I started making up plays and little newspapers at a very early age. I attempted my […]

Breaking Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway

Breaking Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway

Review: Breaking by Danielle Rollins is the companion novel to Burning. I think Breaking should be listed as a sequel because you need a lot of knowledge from Burning for everything to make sense. I think Breaking is more of a ya-thriller than Burning was too. These characters drew me in right away. I was extremely interested in Charlotte’s life and how it would connect with Angela’s from Burning. Breaking is very mysterious and I enjoyed trying to figure out the mystery. I think Charlotte’s character is interesting. Her best friends committed suicide but she doesn’t know why. Charlotte […]

Burning by Danielle Rollins is a ya-thriller but I didn’t find it as creepy as it sounded. A 10 year old girl with odd abilities shows up at a juvenile detention center and weird things begin to happen. This book didn’t wrap up as well as I would have liked but I still found myself enjoying it. This story is really enjoyable. Rollins’ writing is strong and she created some great characters. Angela is a great main character. Her story is what kept me going with this story. I wanted to see what would happen to her. Rollins did a […]

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen is so good. I really enjoyed this book. I felt like I could really relate to Sydney and what she was going through. Sydney is struggling because her older brother is in jail and she feels guilty for all the mistakes that he has made. To get away from all the rumors and pity, Sydney ends up changing schools and making new friends. Sydney’s new group of friends are quite odd but at the same time they are pretty amazing. Sydney makes a new girlfriend, meets a wonderful boy that she wants to be her […]

The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord

The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord is amazing. Lucy is such a strong character. I feel like Lucy’s struggle is something many people can relate too. Lucy is struggling with her faith and why God would allow her mom’s cancer to come back. Lucy’s mom asks her to be a counselor at a camp for troubled teens rather than going to normal church camp. The struggle Lucy is going through is one many can relate too and I really enjoyed her self discovery. This story is about finding out who you are and where you belong. I enjoyed […]

The Nanny Arrangement by Rachel Harris is amazing ya’ll. I love this story. Everyone knows that I am a huge fan of Rachel Harris’. Hannah’s story is by far one of my favorites. Hannah Fisher is such a relate-able character. I really enjoyed getting to know her. My favorite trope is the friends to lovers. I find something so romantic about it. Hannah and Deacon have been friends for what seems like forever. Readers, I can’t begin to tell you that the friendship these two have is one that all people should strive to have. These two love and care […]

Review: Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen brought so many feels. There are so many changes in life that you have no control over and Sarah Dessen really explored this. Ruby is turning 18 in a few months, but before she can get there her mother abandons her. Ruby ends up living with her estranged sister. I really enjoyed this story because I am currently going through my own changes in life that are out for my control. Ruby’s story touched my soul. I totally understand wanting a safe place and wanting to keep something normal. Ruby grew a […]
