“Don’t Even Think About It” by Sarah Mlynowski was definitely an interesting tale. Children who develop telepathic powers from a vaccine was a little out there. The synopsis pulled me into the storyline that I wanted to see what “Don’t Even Think About It” was truly about, unfortunately I was disappointed. Almost an entire homeroom received the flu vaccination and the next day 11 students started out with the telepathic powers. As the day went on and even the next day, more students started to show symptoms of the powers.  The group of students decided to keep their new powers […]

“I looked around, counting the competition. Sixteen. To win, all I had to do was incapacitate each one, place my hand over their hearts and turn my palm into a flame. Easy….Yeah right.” I was expecting this to be Alice in Wonderland turned Zombie however there were only a couple actual references to the Lewis Carroll story. Alice follows the white rabbit holding a clock a lot because it warns her about what is to come, however it is the chapter titles in the book that are the main connection to the curious story of Alice in Wonderland. This novel was very fun and entertaining. I […]

“The Mark of Athena” by Rick Riordan was better than I expected. I really thought that Percy Jackson would die out and would become a topic of old. Percy Jackson just keeps getting better. “The Mark of Athena” is the next part of everyone’s journey. There is a new prophecy to fulfill and  now two camps have to work as one. What do you do when you have to work with your sworn enemies? What happens when other forces are at work to cause issues? These are lessons that Percy and his friends have to learn. At the end of […]

“The Son of Neptune” by Rick Riordan is a great second book for the second series. I loved how Percy had to rediscover himself. Percy Jackson wakes up with amnesia and he has to try to remember who he is. Percy is confused at first about who he is and what he is doing but when Juno steps in and leads Percy to Camp Jupiter, everything starts to change.  Percy is a Greek demi-god in a camp full of Roman demi-gods. Since the Romans and the Greeks never got along neither did the demi-god camps. Hazel and Frank befriended Percy […]
