Akata Warrior Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway

REVIEW:  Akata Warrior by Nnedi Okorafor is a fabulous sequel to Akata Wich. Sunny Nwazue is a bit older and more grown up. Okorafor brings a bit of a more dreamy and broaden world in Akata Warrior. This sequel focuses a lot more on Sunny discovering who she is as a Leopard Person and what that really means. She learns how to rely on herself and not just the powers taht she is given. I really enjoyed the continued growth that Sunny shows and the different things that she learns about herself. This book does not bring a lot […]

Things I’m Seeing Without You Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway

REVIEW: Things I’ve Seeing Without You by Peter Bognanni is deep and humorous. I have to say that it is a bit hard for me to say that a story about a girl dealing with her boyfriend’s suicide. What makes the story humorous is the fact that her father owns an alternative funeral business. As Tess is trying to deal and recover from the loss of her boyfriend, her dad is off doing funerals for dogs and horses and other cases. Tess and her boyfriend had an online based relationship. As she is dealing with her loss, she goes online […]

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melisaa Bashardoust is magical and addictive. I really enjoyed this loose retelling of Snow White. Bashardoust brings us two strong female characters that share their story. I loved that this book has two points of view. I really fell for both Mina and Lynet. Let’s talk about the characters! The Men: I will be brief. They are terrible. The Huntsman is probably the nicest one but well he is not idea. In more ways than one. The King is so infuriating. He is selfish, oblivious, mean, and well stupid. He makes such a […]

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco is amazing. I really enjoyed this book. I seem to have a thing for historical murder mystery books. This story is delightful and dark, which drew me in right away. I actually only had two guesses as to who the murderer was and one of my guesses was right! The characters in this book are fantastic. I really enjoyed Audrey Rose. she knows what she wants and isn’t going to let anyone stop her. Audrey Rose is strong and determined. She is so smart and I am glad she doesn’t take crap from […]

Gaelin and Emma end up finding this place and of course Emma wants to stay and learn more. Gaelin and Emma get into a fight and Gaelin takes off. Of Triton by Anna Banks is a beautiful sequel in the Syrena world. Here we have many established characters that add a lot to the story. This book really focused on the rules and politics of the Syrena world. They way the Syrena world is set up is so interesting to me. It is almost like a mix of modern world and old world. I loved getting to know the way of this society works better. Emma’s history of her life is being completely rewritten. now she doesn’t know what to think. I really admired Emma in this book because […]

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks is so good. I can’t believe it took me so long to read this book. Emma is such a snarky main character; and I absolutely loved every bit of it. She is a girl after my own heart. The world building is so good. I felt like I really understood the Syrena Kingdom, rules, society, and people. Banks really creates a world that you can get lost in. Galen and Emma are the perfect point of views. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters. Galen and Emma’s interactions provide plenty of entertainment. Emma learns […]

A friend of mine recently asked me to read The Black Witch by Laurie Forest. I tend to have different opinions than others and she was curious what I would think with all the drama that is going on. Before you continue to read, please know that this review is my opinion and my thoughts. If you don’t like it, then you are welcome to stop reading. I think each person can have their own opinions and thoughts and shouldn’t have to be afraid of everyone else. I think The Black Witch is a very thought out story about the […]

Review: Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor is amazing. When Sunny’s family moved away from the United States to their native Nigeria, she was nine years old. Now 12 year old Sunny is an outsider among her classmates. Sunny is constantly bullied by other kids because of the fact that she was born in America and she is an albino. When Sunny sees a vision of the world’s future, she learns that she is a Leopard, or a person that has magical abilities. This starts Sunny’s journey and the reader is in for an incredible ride. I really liked the opening […]

The Inevitable Collision of Birdie & Bash Blog Tour

Review: The Inevitable Collison of Birdie and Bash by Candace Ganger is center around a huge tragic event. Bash and his friend are in a car that runs over Birdie’s little brother. Birdie’s little brother has a slim chance of survival from this accident. Unfortunately, no one takes responsibility for this accident. When Bash and Birdie end up working together at the local skating rink, Bash has a hard time keeping his secret. Bash struggles a lot internally with whether he should tell Birdie what he did.
