That Summer by Sarah Dessen

That Summer by Sarah Dessen

Review: That Summer by Sarah Dessen had such a realistic story plot that I was drawn in right away. Haven is gong through so many changes in her life. Her dad left. Her sister is getting married. Her mom wants to sell their house. Haven’s entire life is spinning out of control and she doesn’t have a choice over any of it. I may not have experienced any of the issues that Haven has experienced, but I can relate to how she felt. Haven tries to grasp some point of her life that she loved and hold on to […]

The Takedown Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway

The Takedown Blog Tour: Review and Giveaway

Review: The Takedown by Corrie Wang is so good. I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I was intrigued right away about a book raising an issue to social media. I spend way too much on social media. Not only do I work in social media for work but I am also a blogger and do plenty of my own social media. There is so many situation problems that arise now that our whole lives are online. We live in a world where there is so much lack of privacy because everything is in an online […]

The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine is so good. I really enjoyed getting to know Lorelai and Koi. I love there banter and cute swoony moments. I think that the characters in this normal fit perfectly together. I really enjoyed the story and plot. The characters are developed well and really get you hooked. I became invested in these characters and really wanted to know how they ended up. I was expecting this story to be more from the point of view of the evil queen and it was not. I was slightly disappointed but got over that quite soon […]

Dream Forever by Kit Alloway is a great way to wrap up this series. Alloway’s writing just keeps getting better as her books go on. I think the conclusion brings a wonderful conclusion for her readers. Readers are able to stay engaged with this series and I think if you were starting with this book that you wouldn’t get too lost in the story. I feel like there is a lot more humor in this book which is fun and provides a good way to light then book mood. Josh has grown into a wonderful young woman that is strong […]

Dreamfever by Kit Alloway was a great sequel to Dreamfire. With the ending of Dreamfire, everyone is struggling with how their lives have changed. Four months after Dreamfire ended, Josh and Will are exploring the Dream. When they stumble across a girl, they figure that she is a dreamwalker that got lost in the Dream. Everyone soon finds out that this girl is way more than what she seems. I thought this book has a lot better pacing than Dreamfire. This book was easier to get through and didn’t take as much time. I thought the characters were a lot […]

Dreamfire by Kit Alloway was a good read. I thought the world building and romance was well written and pretty easy to follow. Alloway did a great job at bringing a unique plot to her readers. Dreamwalkers is a fun idea. Dreamwalkers are people who can enter nightmares and help resolve them for the dreamer. My biggest problem with this story is it is a bit slow to build. The reader is thrown into a world with a ton of characters with so many different names. I have to say that was a bit hard to follow up as you […]

Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas

Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas

Long May She Reign by Rhiannon Thomas is amazing. I was so excited to read this book and it definitely lived up to this expectation. This story started out super strong. Freya is a scientist. She is on the lowest totem pole to become the next ruler. I love that the fantasy part of the book was also mixed with a murder mystery. This story was extremely enjoyable. Freya despises the wastefulness of court life. She would rather keep to herself and her science, because of this Freya ends up being spared by accident. For the King’s birthday celebration there […]

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

I’ve never seen the movie Labyrinth, so my dislike of this book is not because it didn’t compare to the movie. I was extremely excited to dive into this book. I soon found myself very disappointed with Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones. The main character Elisabeth is extremely whiny and annoying. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get into this story. It is really hard to like a character that comes across pathetic and uninteresting. The Goblin didn’t help himself either. I found myself not wanting to finish this book at all. My determination made me finish especially […]

By Your Side by Kasie West was a bit disappointing to me. I am not a huge contemporary reader but I have always enjoyed West’s contemporaries. I feel like By Your Side fell a bit short. Autumn was not a desirable character. I felt like she was a bit self centered especially since she wasn’t willing to explain her behavior to her friends. Dax on the other hand was great most of the time. There are a few things that I don’t  like about Dax but he is a much better character than Autumn. When Autumn and Dax get stuck […]

Fairest by Marissa Meyer

It took me awhile to read Fairest by Marissa Meyer because I wasn’t sure if I could feel sympathetic towards Levana. I also wasn’t sure if I wanted to know her story. After reading the new graphic novel Wires and Nerves by Marissa Meyer, I decided I wanted to get to know Levana more. I was ready. Fairest was amazing. I was so surprised at the content that I got. I felt so bad for everything Levana went through. Now this didn’t mean I liked her because she is still the villain that I love to hate but this book […]
