“Tease” by Amanda Maciel is a must read. I thought Maciel did a wonderful job with this book. I think this is a book that every teenager should read. I think anyone that has been bullied or has been the bully will completely relate to this book. “Tease” is an eye opener. I have never thought about how the bully may feel when they have to deal with the consequences of their actions. In all honesty it can change your entire life. This is what Sara had to learn. Sara was a bully to Emma. I don’t agree with the […]

A Risk Worth Taking by Heather Hildenbrand

A Risk Worth Taking by Heather Hildenbrand

“A Risk Worth Taking” by Heather Hildenbrand was super cute. Summer and Ford have such a great chemistry together. They each have their own lives and their own issues but that doesn’t hinder the relationship that they have with each other. This story is told in a dual point of view between Summer and Ford. I think this was a great narrative to have for this epic romance. These two balance each other out perfectly.   Summer comes home from winter break to find out that her parents have separated and that her mom is moving out of the house. […]

“Exile” by Kevin Emerson is pretty amazing. The story is told by Summer’s point of view. Summer is a high school band manager. She was previously hurt by a previous boyfriend and band. Then Summer hears Caleb play and decides that if she can convince him, she may give this band management another try.   Summer is tying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS!!!! “The One” made my head spin. Let me start off by saying this is a fantastic series and if you haven’t read “The Selction” or “The Elite” please walk away now and go read them because I don’t want to ruin anything for you and this will probably have some spoilers from the last two books in it. I really think that Kiera Cass out did herself with this one. There has been a lot of hype to who America was going to be with whether it was Prince Maxon or Aspen. I will admit I loved […]

Love for Beginners by Sally Clements

Love for Beginners by Sally Clements

“Love for Beginners” is absoultely fantastic. I loved “Under the Hood” and I wasn’t sure if the sequel was going to live up to the first novella. I honestly had nothing to worry about. I think “Love for Beginners” was a lot better than “Under the Hood.” I like the fact that it was a little bit longer of a novella and I really got to know Mel. I think Mel’s character reall grew in this novella. I felt like she learned a lot about herself and about others. I think Mel really learned a lesson about juding others and […]

Mini Review: Under the Hood by Sally Clements

Mini Review: Under the Hood by Sally Clements

“Under the Hood” by Sally Clements is such a cute Novella. It was such a fun and fast read. I absoultely love the Bliss line from Entangled Publishing. I really like Clements writing. I thought that this little novella had a lot to offer. It was lighthearted and it would make a great summer read. I loved how Clements created female empowered characters. These women are comfortable in their skin and not afraid to express what they want. I really liked Alice Starr. Even though she didn’t completely trust men and part of her didn’t want to have anything to […]

“The Last Time I Saw You” by Eleanor Moran was a heartfelt tale about two best friends. Olivia gets a phone call of a lifetime and not the good kind. She finds out that her best friend from college has been killed in a car crash. Olivia didn’t think that Sally considered herself to be friends with Olivia anymore after they had a terrible falling out, but Olivia discovers that Sally named her daughter after her. “The Last Time I Saw You” is told in flashbacks. Olivia tries to remember her past with Sally and try to find clues to […]

Book Review: Second Star by Alyssa Sheinmel

Book Review: Second Star by Alyssa Sheinmel

“Second Star” by Alyssa Sheinmel was extremely disappointing. I really like the story of Peter Pan and as a big Peter Pan fan, I may have had too high of hopes for “Second Star.” I just found myself bored or lost a lot. Having the character set as surfers in a surfing environment was a weird place to start in general. I was trying to follow the path that Sheinmel was trying to take but I could not get into the story at all. I thought it was weird creating this world that Wendy Darling was hallucinating in. It was […]

Woah! What to say? I am still trying to get over my book hangover. Here is the low down (if you haven’t read Divergent or Insurgent yet, I would walk away now because things will be spoiled for you. BUT…there are no spoilers for Allegiant). Tris, Four, Christina, Cara, and several others venture out beyond the wall. To discover old and new friends already living there. Not only do they go through the process of finding out what is beyond the wall but they also have to process what the world is really like. Roth has done a good job […]

Book Review: Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Book Review: Insurgent by Veronica Roth

“Insurgent” starts out where “Divergent” left off and let me just start by saying I am not a happy camper at all. I was extremely disappointed. I felt like “Insurgent” was disappointing compared to “Divergent.” Tris lost all of her appeal and in general she would make me mad. I felt like “Insurgent” was just so slow. I thought “Divergent” kept a really good pace, things flowed quite nicely and the reader was able to keep on going but with “Insurgent” there is another story. “Insurgent” played out so slowly. I felt like I was dragging my feet the entire […]
