Jane, Unlimited

Jane, Unlimited

Jane, Unlimited took me on a confusing roller coaster ride. I’ve heard so many mix reviews about this book that I’ve been a bit wishy-washy about starting it. Jane, Unlimited has one of those covers that you keep going back to cause SHINY! I broke down and started the book. Now I feel like I’ve been on a roller coaster ride because there is so much going on. I am going to break my reactions down. 11.16.17 I’ve made it through the introduction and first story. I’ve enjoyed it so far once I got to the first story. The introduction […]

Liberty: The Spy Who (Kind of) Like Me by Andrea Portes is absolutely hilarious. I love that this book is sill an fun. There are ways to create an original story and still keep it simple. It is quite enjoyable to read a book that makes you laugh so hard that you almost cry. Paige Nolan’s parents are very high profile journalists that went missing and were presumed dead. Paige try her best to move on and continue her normal college life. Then Paige is recruited by a spy to become a spy. Being very reluctant at first, Paige reluctantly […]

The Knot Yours Truly: Inspiration and Ideas to Personalize Your Wedding is such a great inspiration book with some really good ideas. I loved having a chance to look at other people’s weddings and seeing what they did to celebrate their special day. I really liked the different ideas that were included for the DIY projects. The defining your style was probably my favorite part of the book because it gives you several different styles of weddings and then gave examples and beautiful photos. This is definitely one of the better wedding books that I have seen. About love2dazzle Ali […]

Everless by Sara Holland

Everless by Sara Holland

Everless by Sara Holland is so good. This story was so much more than what I was expecting and I really enjoyed it. Everless starts out a bit slow but I found that it began to pick up the pace as we were introduced to the castle of Everless. Once inside Everless, I feel like there was so much going on. Jules lives in a world where time is drawn from your blood and is turned into currency. Punishment comes from your blood. You pay your bills with your blood. It is quite interesting to see how these people are […]

Between the Blade and the Heart Blog Tour: Review, Giveaway, Q&A, and Excerpt

Q&A with Amanda Hocking   Q: What or who was the inspiration behind Between the Blade and the Heart? A: I have already written several books inspired by Scandinavian folklore, and I was always fascinated by Valkyries. But because I had already done in Scandinavian fantasy, I wanted to come at this one from a different angle. I imagined the Valkyries helping to police a gritty, diverse, cyberpunk metropolis, in a world filled with not just Norse figures but from many mythologies.   Q: What are the life lessons that you want readers to glean from your book? A: That […]

Spindle Fire by Lexa Hillyer is a lot different than I was expecting. I really enjoyed it. This story is mostly a retelling of Sleeping Beauty but there is a bit of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland mixed in too. I was surprise to find that a good check on this book takes place with the faeries. Isabelle and Aurora are half sisters. Poor Isabelle is an illegitimate child of the King’s and so she isn’t treated very well. Her sight was taken by the fairies as payment for a change in Aurora’s curse. Aurora has lost her voice and sense […]

Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith is written very lovely. Smith brings her readers beautiful conversations that make your heart break. This book deals with loss, death, and poverty. I found myself having a hard time with this because there is so much selfishness. The story just seemed to drag on. Windfall was not the book for me. The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli is so good. Asha is the daughter of the Draskor King. Asha does not have your typical princess life, she is a dragon slayer. She is the Iskari and wears the scars on her face for it. People are afraid of her. Asha is cursed to make the wrongs of her past right. If Asha can unlock her past, she may be able to discover the truth about her life. I don’t know about you, but when dragons are mentioned, I immediately want to read that book. This is a book that hooks you […]
