What’s Cooking? Wednesday: Dare to Bake! Review

What’s Cooking? Wednesday: Dare to Bake! Review

This book is really fun. It is filled will really cool and interesting recipes that are easy to follow.  It’s is not your traditional cupcake cookbook many of the recipes require advanced planning. I like how this book is special it uses ingredients you would not necessarily think of to make elegant gourmet cupcakes. I am looking forward to making the Hibiscus Flower cupcakes so here is a little teaser found on page 16: “Hibiscus flowers grow everywhere in my home country, the Dominican Republic, but they are not normally used in cooking. It wasn’t until I started venturing into Mexican cuisine […]

“Uncompromising” by Hannah Farver is a very interesting book. Farver focuses on targeting a young woman’s heart, so I feel like she is able to do that being a younger woman herself. Farver makes a point to prove that she understands the struggles, fears, and happiness that comes into everyone’s life. The point of this book is supposed to focused around a person’s heart. Many young people are lost and trying to figure out where they belong in this world. Farver is other if voice and point of view on modesty, purity, love, and God. She writes as if she […]

“What Stands in a Storm” by Kim Cross is a very emotional read. This book tells the story of several tornadoes that destroyed several southern states in 2011. People have to band together and help each other in the time of need. This story is divided up into three parts. The first part is “The Storm.” The second part is “The Aftermath” and the third part is “The Recovery.” In the first part we meet […]

Lauren Scruggs shares her story of “Your Beautiful Heart.” Lauren doesn’t draw attention to herself in this book. I originally thought this was going to be Lauren’s story but instead I got a book that was all about encouragement and life. I loved it. Scruggs focus in this book is to point out how God is there for the reader. Each chapter of this book begins with a real life story that helps engage the reader to open their heart and follow along in the story. This book is set up like a devotional. The reader can read each chapter […]

Book Review: Q&A a Day: 5-Year Journal

Book Review: Q&A a Day: 5-Year Journal
Posted March 4, 2015 by love2dazzle in Non-Fiction, Reviews / 0 Comments

The “Q&A a Day: 5-Year Journal” is so awesome. I was so excited to get a copy of this for review. I started writing in mine the day after I got it. This journal asks you a different question everyday. On each day there is a slot to write for the year you are filling out the question. I am looking forward to see how my answers change from each year to the next. This is a relatively small book as far as I think it is about the height of a normal person’s hand. It is a bit of […]

Book Review: The Wedding A to Z by Linda Hampshire and Karina El-Hakkaoui

Book Review: The Wedding A to Z by Linda Hampshire and Karina El-Hakkaoui

“The Wedding A to Z” is a great book to be used as a reference guide. I find it hard to use to actually plan a wedding. I am currently planning my own wedding and as this book may be fun to read, I think that it is a little difficult with it being set up more like a reference guide than a self help book. I think some parts have great advice and then other parts feel like there could have been more information so it had a very incomplete feel. I feel like this book really should just […]

About racehorses… An estimated 15,000 to 20,000 Thoroughbred racehorses are sent to slaughter annually, then sold as meat in France, Belgium, Canada, Japan, and other countries where horsemeat is considered food for people. Horses are often slaughtered when they are too injured or simply too slow to compete successfully. Even a number of horses seen on televised high-stakes races like the Kentucky Derby drop down in the ranks until they meet an untimely end in a slaughterhouse. Racehorses are routinely sold straight from the track to kill buyers who get them transported to slaughterhouses in Canada and Mexico for a […]

Rapparport is an amazing writer and did a great deal of research on these girls. She really brings to life the stories of these young women. These young women lost their lives way too soon. This book covers not just the girls but the entirety of their background. This book is highly detailed and put together quite nicely to give an accurate depiction of what these girls really went through in their lives. Rapparport writes this story in a way that you can feel all the emotion that the people went through during this time. When Alexandra Feodorovna has her […]
