Review: The Care and Feeding of a Pet Black Hole by Michelle Cuevas is absoutely adorable. This is one of the funniest and most creative middle grade books that I have read this year. I found myself really enjoying this cute little story. I think this is a great story that tackles losing a loved one. Stella Rodriguez’s father has passed away and so Stella has to find a way to deal with it. Larry, the pet black hole, is eating his feelings. Whenever Larry touches something, it gets absorbed into his core and Larry really enjoys snuggling with soft […]

Review: Smoot: A Rebellious Shadow by Michelle Cuevas and illustrated by Sydney Smith is a joy to read. This story is so charming and fabulous. The writing is so descriptive that I was really able to enjoy the story. The illustrations are so beautiful and vivid that it brings the story to life. I love how the message in this book is about not being afraid to step outside of your comfort zone and take a chance on life. I think this is a great story to read to your little ones.   Review: Most know me as being a huge young adult reader and blogger. Drumline came across my inbox and it looked extremely intriguing that I thought I would give it a shot. I am so glad that I did. I really enjoyed Drumline and getting to know Laird and Reese. Man these two have some amazing chemistry. I thought the story being centered around hazing was quite fun and interesting. I really loved that Reese is stubborn and independent. She has gone through a lot in life and she doesn’t want special treatment because of her experiences but at […]

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melisaa Bashardoust is magical and addictive. I really enjoyed this loose retelling of Snow White. Bashardoust brings us two strong female characters that share their story. I loved that this book has two points of view. I really fell for both Mina and Lynet. Let’s talk about the characters! The Men: I will be brief. They are terrible. The Huntsman is probably the nicest one but well he is not idea. In more ways than one. The King is so infuriating. He is selfish, oblivious, mean, and well stupid. He makes such a […]

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco is amazing. I really enjoyed this book. I seem to have a thing for historical murder mystery books. This story is delightful and dark, which drew me in right away. I actually only had two guesses as to who the murderer was and one of my guesses was right! The characters in this book are fantastic. I really enjoyed Audrey Rose. she knows what she wants and isn’t going to let anyone stop her. Audrey Rose is strong and determined. She is so smart and I am glad she doesn’t take crap from […]

Of Triton by Anna Banks is a beautiful sequel in the Syrena world. Here we have many established characters that add a lot to the story. This book really focused on the rules and politics of the Syrena world. They way the Syrena world is set up is so interesting to me. It is almost like a mix of modern world and old world. I loved getting to know the way of this society works better. Emma’s history of her life is being completely rewritten. now she doesn’t know what to think. I really admired Emma in this book because […]
