Ali: What is your favorite book of 2015 so far? Brad: I loved Eric McCormack’s “Cloud.” There’s something in his fiction… the descriptions take the day-to-day and turn them into beautiful fantasy. But I think that book technically came out at the end of last year. One I’m dying to read that comes out later this year is Rupert Thomson’s “Katherine Carlyle.” There’s always something different going on in Mr. Thomson’s work but it’s always fantastic. Ali: Did you always want to be a writer? Brad: I’ve always written. My first book was dedicated to Mrs. Buckingham who was a […]

Ali: What is your favorite book of 2015 so far? Sandra: I just read Blackout by Sarah Hepola. Great book. Memory is such a fascinating topic, and her take on missing memory (by virtue of a drunken hippocampus) manages to be both witty and profound at the same time. Ali: Did you always want to be a writer? Sandra: It sounds cliché, but yes, I always wanted to be a writer. I remember in fourth grade lying on the sidewalk and writing on a slip of paper about a plane marking across the sky like chalk. My mom said, “You’re […]

Interview with Shari Ali: Hey Shari! Thank you for joining us today for a quick interview. I look forward to getting to know you better. To start things off, what is your favorite book of 2015 so far? Shari: I’m embarrassed to say that I’m still catching up on 2014 books. Am I allowed to choose one of those? If I can, I’d have to say that I loved Jandy Nelsen’s“I’ll Give You the Sun.” The voice in that book is just mind-blowing. From 2015, I really enjoyed “I’ll Meet You There,” by Heather Demetrios. I think Josh is one of […]

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? I love the saying, “Be kinder than necessary. Everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.”  That’s basically the theme I wrote LIFE UNAWARE around. Everyone is fighting. Everyone is in some sort of pain. No matter how they seem on the outside. If you could collaborate with an author (dead or alive), who would you choose? Without question, Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain). I love his wit, humor, and we share a passion for dogs. What was the hardest part about writing your book? Regan, the […]

What was the Purpose of Auras in The Light Key Series? I believe that energy—the palpable wave of feeling that washes over us in the presence of others—is real. Call it mojo, spirit, vibes, or soul; it’s something that’s always fascinated me and I wanted to explore it in YA. I think it would be cool if the series gets people to be more aware of the vibes they feel around certain people and be more aware of their own energy. I chose to use auras because it allowed Cora to use sight as another means of sensing the energy […]

Ali: Hey Lisa, Welcome to Dazzled by Books. We are glad to have you here today. I just have a few questions for you. here is the first, is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? Lisa: I hope readers see this as a story about the redemptive power of love, and hope, and never giving up. Darcy never gives up on her family, and the love she has for them gives her the strength and courage to face the overwhelming challenges piling up in her life. In many ways, she saves her family. I’m […]

Thunderlight Blog Tour: Teasers, Excerpts, Interview, Review, and Giveaway

Teasers:    Review: “Thunderlight” is the second book in “The Dragonian Series.” The covers in this series are gorgeous. Summer break is over and Elena Watkins must return back to the Dragonia Academy. Elena is struggling with the death of Brian. There is still many secrets that are to be told in the world of Paegeia. Elena has to deal with the troubles of the academy and her personal life. I found that this story has ton of action and plot twists. I do believe that the author is in this business to torture her readers because it seems like […]
